About

Who I Am

I currently work as a middle school English teacher, academic team coach, and yearbook advisor at Crittenden County Middle School in Marion, Kentucky. In addition to teaching middle school students, I also serve as an adjunct instructor of English for Madisonville Community College.

Out of high school, I attended college at Murray State University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education. I taught high school English at Union County High School (Morganfield, Kentucky) and Livingston Central High School (Smithland, Kentucky); while teaching, I returned to MSU to earn a master’s degree in English. I’m currently pursuing my doctorate in English pedagogy and technology at MSU with a concentration in writing.

On a personal note, I live near Paducah, Kentucky, with my niece, Aria, 7, and nephew, Phoenix, 2, who I help raise. I enjoy reading, writing, and taking long walks through bookstores.

I am using this blog site as part of my research focus in the DA program at MSU.
